Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

TailorTell (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.

Contact: hello@tailortell.com

1. What we collect, and when

When you request a Visibility Audit (audit form):

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your brand name
  • Optional notes about your business and goals
  • The category gaps you select
  • Your IP address and browser user agent (logged automatically for fraud prevention)

When you visit any page:

  • Standard server logs maintained by our hosting provider (Hostinger) — IP address, page requested, timestamp, browser type. Retained per the host’s policy.
  • Anonymous usage data via Google Analytics 4 (where active) — page views, session duration, approximate location, device type. We do not collect personally identifiable information through analytics.

When you comment on a Journal post (if comments are enabled):

  • The name, email, and comment content you submit
  • Your IP address, as captured by WordPress

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

2. Why we collect it

  • Audit submissions: to respond to your request, prepare your audit, and follow up about engagement.
  • Server logs: for site security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
  • Analytics: to understand which pages are useful, where visitors come from, and how to improve the site.
  • Comments: to display your contribution and respond if needed.

We never sell your data. We never share your audit submission with anyone outside TailorTell, except where required to deliver an email response or comply with the law.

3. Who else processes your data

  • Google receives anonymous analytics data via GA4 (subject to Google’s privacy policy) and serves the typefaces this site uses via Google Fonts.
  • Hostinger hosts the site and handles server-level requests.
  • Our email provider (the SMTP service used to deliver audit notifications) processes the contents of audit-notification emails.
  • No advertising networks, retargeting platforms, or data brokers receive your data.

4. How long we keep it

  • Audit submissions: up to 24 months from receipt, then deleted unless we have an active engagement. You can request earlier deletion at any time.
  • Analytics data: Google Analytics retention is set to 14 months.
  • Server logs: per our host’s standard retention (typically 30–90 days).
  • Comments: retained while the related post remains published.

5. Cookies and tracking

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies for visitors. WordPress sets a small set of essential cookies only when you log in to the admin area.

When Google Analytics is active, GA4 sets its own first-party cookies for visit measurement. You can opt out of GA tracking using browser extensions, or by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser.

6. Your rights

You may have the right to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request that we delete your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing

To exercise any of these, email hello@tailortell.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are based in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 applies. If you are based in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applies. Residents elsewhere can use the same email address to make a request.

7. Security

The site runs over HTTPS site-wide. Submitted data is stored in the WordPress database on Hostinger’s managed infrastructure. We do not store payment information of any kind.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the policy changes. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes may be announced via the site or by email to known contacts.
